UN’s Commission on the Status of Women 63rd Conference, New York, NY (March 11-16)
We-Empower’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Noubia Gribi-Hussain, has been working as a Senior Policy Advisor for the African Union (AU) Women Gender and Development Directorate (WGDD) since October, 2018. Noubia was selected to attend the sixty-third session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, NY (March 11-16), and the official launch of AU Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Strategy, attended by high level officials from the 55 AU-African countries.
Regional Coordination Mechanism (RCM) for Africa, Marrakech, Morocco (March 23-25)
Mrs. Gribi-Hussain attended the twentieth session of the Regional Coordination Mechanism (RCM) for Africa in Marrakech, Morocco (March 23-25), focusing on the “United Nations system support for the African Union in commemorating 2019 as the Year of Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons”. At the session, Noubia held discussions with the Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and roundtable discussions with high level officials from the UN, AU member states and AU officials on Migration, displacement, and education. Mrs. Gribi-Hussain continues to assist WGDD for the implementation and roll out of the Strategy in the 55 AU member states.
