This summer We-Empower gained five new interns through The Fund for American Studies, a prestigious program that helps students aspiring to work in international affairs gain professional experience while taking classes through George Mason University.
Each intern was given a mentor and task that was uniquely tailored to their ambitions and prior experience. Although the internship was expected to take place in Washington, D.C., We-Empower worked tirelessly to provide an abundance of opportunities in a virtual setting.
The interns had the ability to attend webinars, execute projects, conduct research, listen in on logistical meetings, and receive postgraduate advice from the staff.
As the internship program comes to an end, each intern submitted an interview about their takeaways from this unique, unexpected internship experience.
