Dr. Memon is a Professor Emeritus at Washington State University and  Vice President for Livestock at We-Empower, a US based NGO, focusing on food security, gender equality and equity, livelihoods, and One Health: www.we-empower.co  As a Fulbright Specialist https://fulbrightspecialist.worldlearning.org/ , Dr. Mushtaq  Memon’s most recent assignment, in June 2022, was to assist the Veterinary Faculty at Agriculture & Forestry University http://afu.edu.np/vet/ Rampur, Chitwan, Nepal.

Dr. Memon leads presentation of Fulbright Opportunities at University in Nepal

During his recent trip to Nepal, where he served as a Fulbright Specialist with the Veterinary Faculty of the Agricultural and Forestry University in Rampur, Chitwan, Dr. Mushtaq Memon, Vice President for Livestock at We-Empower, spoke at a workshop organized by the Veterinary Students Association to provide information about Fulbright Scholarship opportunities in the United States. 
The workshop was well attended by approximately 250  university students, faculty and administrators. During the workshop, Dr. Memon provided an introduction to Fulbright Programs. There are over 800 grants awarded annually to accomplished students and scholars from more than 160 countries who come to the US to study, teach and conduct research.

Other speakers were Dr. Tulsi Ram Gompo, who provided insight into the application process and his experiences as a Fulbright Master Scholar (2015-2017) in the MS program at Colorado State University, and Ms. Rakchhya Maharjan, Senior Program Officer at the Fulbright Commission/USEF-Nepal. Ms. Maharjan spoke about the resources available to students and administrators which will assist them in applying for Fulbright scholarships.

In March 2023, Dr. Memon will return to Nepal on the second leg of his Fulbright assignment.  He will once again be working with the Agriculture and Forestry University as well as with other government and private facilities
